344 because previous no is one less than the next no..like 7 8 then 49 50 in this way 343 next term will be 344

8=7+1

50=49+1
56=8*7

344 ...because 7*7 after 1 place gap and add 1 and then 8*7 after come 2 places and add 1 and finally 49*7 comes after 4 places then we should add 1 and i.e 344

1,7,7+1=8,7*7=49,49+1=50,7*8=56,56+1=57,49*7=343 so the next no would be=343+1=344

to obtain the next number just perform this operation 343+1=344 basing in the given series example 3rd term 1+7=8, 5th term 49+1=50, 7th term 56+1=57 therefore
the 9th term is 343+1 which is equal to 344.

write the term number in binary and use base 7 to calculate value as follows
first term = 1 (binary) = 1*(7^0) = 1
second term = 10 (binary) =1*( 7^1) + 0*(7^0) = 7
third term = 11 (binary) =1*( 7^1) + 1*(7^0) = 8
forth term = 100 (binary) =1*( 7^2) + 0*(7^1) + 0*(7^0) = 49

so on

eighth term = 1000(8 in binary) = 7^3 = 343 .........(did not mention zero term)
ninth term = 1001 ( 9 in binary) = 7^3 + 7^0 = 343+1 = 344

8 = 1 x 7 + 1
49 = 7 x 7 + 1
50 = 7 x 7 + 1
56 = 8 x 7
57 = 8 x 7 + 1
343 = 49 x 7
Next term should be 49 x 7 + 1 = 344

position of 343 will be 8 i.e 2^3
position 9 will be 2^3 + 2^0
hence value at 9 will be 7^3 + 7^0 = 344
