wen 1 in thousand place.other three place can b fill 4*4*4=64.
same 2 and 3.till now(64+64+64)=192.
nex wen 4 in thousand place and 1 in hundred place,rest two place we can fill(4*4) way.and same wen 2 will b hundred place,so till now total(192+16+16)=224.
now wen 3 in hundred place and 1 in ten place we can fill rest one place by 4 way.and 2 in ten place we can fill rest one place by only 1 way....so total ans is(224+4+1)=229.

1 digit no = 4
2 digit no. = 4^2= 16
3 digit no = 4^3 = 64
4 digit no = keepng 1 at thousnd place= 4^3= 64
keepng 2 " " " = 4^3=64
" 3 " " " =4^3= 64
" 4 " " " = (16+16+4+1)=37
4 digit no's =64+64+64+37=229
total numbers possible =229+64+16+4 = 313 :)

I dont understand from this :-

" 4 " " " = (16+16+4+1)=37
4 digit no's =64+64+64+37=229
total numbers possible =229+64+16+4 = 313 :)
