he has 99 toffees with him.
99/4 gives reminder as 3
99/5 gives reminder as 4
so when toffees are distributed among six people
99/6 it gives reminder as 3.
so he has 3 toffee left with him.

"4" toffees will be left over.

solution:
given that toffees are between 80 and 100,
to satisfy the first condition of distribution of toffees among four children,the probable number of toffees could be 83 or 87 or 91 or 94 or 97
but to satisfy second condition,the number of toffees would be 94.
now if 94 toffees are divided equally into six person(four children + wife + himself),
then all six will get 15 each(15*6=90),and left over will be 4.

consider 99 toffees then he divided equally to the children and left with 3 means he was given 96 & left with 3, now make it into 5 parts then he has given 95 & left with 4, now make it into 6 parts he has given 96 & left with 3toffees so the ans is 3

total no of toffees = 99 when distributed among 6 people..remainder =3
