work will not be completed, since no of persons decreases no days will increases.

the work wl not be completed coz we will remain wd no person after 60 days n till than nly 13/16 part f d wrk. . hence 3/16 part f the wrk will be remained undone :)
since 60 men cn comlpete the wrk in 40 days. . so1 men's 1 day's work vl be ; 1/40*60
total work done is :5* 60( 1 / 40*60 ) + 5* 55 ( 1/ 40*60 )+ 5*45 ( 1/40*60 )+ 5*40 ( 1/40*60)+. . . nd so on till 5* 5 ( 1 ? 40*60 )
now 5/ ( 40*60 ) { 60 + 55 + 50 + 45 +. . . . + 5 ) = 5/2400 [ sum of series using arithmatic progerssion n term summation formula
we ans as 13/16. :)

it will take 120 days to finish the work!!
question says after every 5 days 5 people leave the work hence at the end of 40 days 20 men left,hence using chain rule 20:60::40:x
x=(60*40)/20=120 days

44 days it will take for completion of whole task.
5 days work of 60 men=1/8
remaining 7/8 work will be completed by 55men.
so it will take 39 days(actually 420/11)
39+5=44

60 * 5 * 1/2400 = 300/2400
55 * 5 * 1/2400 = 275/2400
50 * 5 * 1/2400 = 250/2400
45 * 5 * 1/2400 = 225/2400
40 * 5 * 1/2400 = 200/2400
35 * 5 * 1/2400 = 175/2400
30 * 5 * 1/2400 = 150/2400
25 * 5 * 1/2400 = 125/2400
20 * 5 * 1/2400 = 100/2400
15 * 5 * 1/2400 = 75/2400
10 * 5 * 1/2400 = 50/2400
5 * 5 * 1/2400 = 25/2400

total amount of work done in 60 days before there are 0 workers

60*40 men can do complete work in 1 day
1 man's 1 day's work= 1/2400
60 men's 5 day's work = (1/2400)*5 = 1/480
remaining work = [1-(1/480)]= 479/480
now men left are 55
55 men's 1 day's work = 55/2400 =11/480
so 11/480 work is done by them in 1 day
therefore 479/480 will be done by them in (479/480)*(480/11)= 479/11
