x/50=(x+120)/60,
x=600
now,
distance bw station
x+x+120=1320

12*60=720
12*50=600
720-600=120
so, total 1320

distance is directly proportional to speed. so ratio of distances will be equal to ratio of speeds of the two trains.
so
(x+12)/x = 60/50
on solving this linear equation in one variable we get x = 600
so train 1 travels 600 and train 2 travels 600+120=720
thus total distance travelled is 1320

12*50=600
total 1320

they both meet at a point...hence time is equal..
t=distance/velocity...
x/50 = (x+120)/60
x=600...distance=600+720=1320 km..
