I think the question should be

Five minutes ago if it was as many minutes past three o'clock as four times minutes left to 6 o'clock now , how many minutes is is to six o'clock , then
answer will be 26 minutes to 6 o'clock.
Then present time will be .. 5-34.
50 minutes before , time will be .. 4-44.
Minutes past 3 o'clock at that time = 1 hr 44 minutes or 104 minutes which is 4 times(26) minutes left to 6 o' clock now.

Now let the min left to 6'o clock = x
now present time is = 6hr - x min i.e. 360 min - x min
(Convert Hr into mins)
time before 5 mins to the present time = 360min - x min - 5min
(Present time minus more 5 mins to get time before 5 mins)
but acc to statement 5 mins before the time was = 4x + 3hr i.e. 4x min + 180 min
therefore the eqation to solve is :
4x + 180 = 360 - x - 5
4x + x = 360-5-180
5x = 175
x = 175/5 = 35
so 35 mins are left to 6'0 clock as we have already persumed x to b that value.
