initially milk=3/4 so water= 1-3/4 =1/4
let x litre be taken
so rest amount of milk in bottle=(3/4)-(3x/4) =(1-x)*(3/4)
so rest amount of water in bottle=(1/4)-(x/4) =(1-x)*(1/4)
now amount is replaced by water
so now water in bottle=(1-x)*(1/4)+x
from question ratio milk:water becomes 1:1
(1-x)*(1/4)+x = (1-x)*(3/4)
1-x+4x=3-3x
1+3x=3-3x
6x=2
x=1/3
so 1/3 of bottlte mixture must be replaced by water to get ration of 1:1.

Milk:Water=3:1 in % Ratio=75:25
For the mixture to contain half milk and half water,milk should be 50%
For this 1/3 quantity of mixture is to be replaced by water
New quantity of Milk(75- 75/3 =50) and Water (25- 25/3 + 25+ 25/3=50)

its very simple ....milk is 3/4 thats's mean 75 % is milk and 1/4 is water that is 25 % water
we have to make 50-50 solution so if we add 25% water in the water part and same quantity is reduced from the milk part so that the ration become 50- 50
25% of 75 is known is 1/3
so answer is 1/3

water =1/4
let x lt taken
rest amount of milk=3/4- 3x/4=3/4*(1-x)
rest amount of water=1/4*(1-x)
now equal amount of water is replaced by x lt
amount of water=(1-x)*1/4+x
new ratio=1:1
(1-x)*1/4+x=(1-x)*3/4
by solving we get x=1/3
so 1/3 of bottle mix must be replaced by water to get ratio =1:1
