let population of alhambra in 2006 was X and that of nalanda was Y.
so in 2011:
population of alhambra= X + 85% of X = 37X/20.
population of nalanda = Y - 33% of Y = 67Y/100.

but in 2011, population of both was found to be equal
therefore, 37X/20=67Y/100
=> Y = (37 * 5)X/67 = 2.761X
so %age of population nalanda was the population of alhambra =2.761*100 = 27.6%

If in 2006,
Population of Alhambra was A and pop of Nalanda was N, then
1.05A = 0.67N
N/A = 1.05/0.67= 105/67
In 2006, percentage of the population nalanda was the population of alhambra = 100*185/67 = 276.11%

let alhambra's population in 2006 was a and that nalanda was n. then
a+85*a/100= n- 33*n/100
n=(185/67)*a
