let scott speed be x m/hr
garrett speed (2s-1) m/hr
distance covered by scott in 2.5 hrs= (5/2)s m/hr
distance covered by garrett in 2 hrs = 2(2s-1) m/hr
(5/2)s= 2(2s-1) m/hr
solving above we get
s=(4/3) m/hr
garret speed = 5/3 m/hr
so in 2 hr distance covered will be 10/3 miles

1/2*x + 2*x = (2x-1)*2

so the ans is b
