In above series, there are 2 alternate series.
1st series is : 5,6.5,8,9.5 , if you observe it carefully you will find that next digit is increased by 1.5 eg.5,6.5(5+1.5),8(6.5+1.5),9.5(8+1.5)
2nd series is : 6,6.5,7,? here next digit is previous digit +0.5
e.g 6, 6.5(6+0.5), 7(6.5+0.5), 7.5 (7+0.5)
Hence ans is "7.5".

Two different AP Series say A(n) and B(n)
So above sequence is as A(n),B(n),A(n),B(n),A(n),B(n),A(n),B(n)

So,

A(n)-> 5, 6.5, 8, 9.5 (difference = 1.5)
B(n)-> 6, 6.5, 7, ? (difference = 0.5)

So ultimately next number will be from series B(n) and will be 7.5 (7+0.5)

6-6.5=.5,
6.5-6.5=0,
6.5+1.5=8,
8-1=7,
7+2.5=9.5,
9.5-2=7.5 ans=7.5

6.5+1.5=8(5th no.) & 6.5 +.5=7(6th no.)
8+1.5=9.5(7th no.) & 7 +.5=7.5(8th no.)ANS
