A = 2.25 days => 1 day = 1/2.25 = 0.44 work/day
B = 4.5 days => 0.22 work / day
C = 9 days => 0.11 work per day
D = 18 days => 0.055 work / day


now add all 1 day work of b,c,d then we ll get 0.345 which is less than 1 days amit work...
so if we all add in amit's work the it will definetly increase the differnce
so group form like, amit in a single group and another group consist of b,c,d

Amit alone is faster group.
other group is made of badri , chetan and Das.
Amit can complete a piece of work in 2.25 days.
so Amit's one day work = 4/9
Badri's one day work = 4/18
Chetan's one day work = 4/36
Das's one day work = 4/72
(B+C+D)'s one day work = 4/18+4/36+4/72= (4/9)*(1/2+1/4+1/8) = (4/9)*(7/8) i.e. 7/8 times of Amit's one day work.

Days taken : 2.25 4.5 9 18
Efficiemcy : 18 9 4.5 2.25

Add Efficiency of B,C,D => 9+4.5+2.25=15.75 which is the closest to 18.
There when efficiencies are closer Days taken are also closer. i.e minimum
faster grp : Amit Other grp : B,C, D

A = 2.25 days => 1 day = 1/2.25 = 0.44 work/day
B = 4.5 days => 0.22 work / day
C = 9 days => 0.11 work per day
D = 18 days => 0.055 work / day

Among the options,work done per day is maximum for option a i.e. A+D
A+D = 0.495 work/day
=> total time taken = 1/0.495 = 2 days

calculate d difference coz the difference shd b minimum as per questn...
(Badri+chetan+das 's 1 day work)-amit's 1 day work=7/18-4/9=1/18 which is minimum......

amit=2.25 now 44.4% of work done in one day
badri=5 now 20% of work done in one day
chetan=10 now 10% of work done in one day
das=20 now 5% of work done in one day
so if we divide the group (20+10+5)% work in one day is less than of amit one day work
so ans is d)

Amit in 1 day can do = .44 work
Bardi in 1 day can do = .22 work
Das in 1 day can do = .11 work
Chetan in 1 day can do = .05 work
in 1 day Bardi + Das + Chetan can do = .38
which is less than amit.
so faster group is amit ans d).

the grup shud be form like a in one grrp and another group is b,c,d, such that difference b/w time taken by group to complete the work should be minimum.
