As Shopkeeper gives her 3 one rupees stamps, she might have purchased 17 Rs. stamps out of 20 Rs.
With the combination of (1 Rs, 2 Rs, 5 Rs) , purchased stamps of 17 Rs. can be
(1,3,2) (2,5,1) (3,2,2) (4,4,1) (5,1,2) (6,3,1) (8,2,1) (10,1,1)
So Total of these stamps+3 one Rs. stamps=Total stamps with Sonia
6+3=9, 8+3=11, 7+3=10, 9+3=12, 10+3=13, 11+3=14, 12+3=15
So among the given option 9, 10 or 12 total stamps can be correct.

Since in the question its stated that She bought One rupee, two rupee and a five rupee stamp
- meaning we have one rs 5 stamp. From the following we can understand
As Shopkeeper gives her 3 one rupees stamps, she has purchased stamps for Rs 17 out of 20 Rs.
With the combination of (1 Rs, 2 Rs, 5 Rs) , purchased stamps of 17 Rs. can be
(2,5,1)-> 8+3=11
(4,4,1) -> 9+3=12
(6,3,1) ->10+3= 13
(8,2,1) ->11+3=14
(10,1,1)->12+3=15

We can see that from out of the above options only 12 is given as an answer
therefore 12 is the answer
