let total vote =x, then 30%of x =1200, therfore x =4000 &remaining 70% of 4000= 2800. now he has needed 1600 more to make it 70% of total vote. so % needed from rem vote= (1600*100)/2800=57.14% approx

let the total vote is x.then 30% of x=(30/100)*x=1200,
or,x=(1200*100)/30;
or,x=4000;
now, 30% of votes already given...so other 70% of x votes=(70/100) *4000=2800 votes. now other needed votes=(70-30)%=40% votes. so 40% votes of x=(40/100)*4000=1600; now he have needed only % of votes=(100*1600)/2800=160000/2800;=57.14285714%

Let,total votes='x'.
According to the question,
30% of x=1200
=>x=4000.
Hence,Remaining votes=(4000-1200)=2800.
Then,
1200+(y% of 2800)=70% of 4000 (where 'y' is the percentage of the remaining votes would he have needed to receive in order to win 70% of the total votes)
=>1200+{(y/100)*2800}=(70/100)*4000
=>1200+{(y/100)*2800}=2800
=>(y/100)*2800=1600
=>y=(1600*100)/2800
=>y=57.14%(approx).

30% of x=1200;
therefore, x= 4000;
remaining votes=4000-1200=2800;
to get 70% of total votes(x),he has to get 1500 votes out of 2800 remaining votes
so,% of remaining votes to get 70% of total votes=(1500/2800)*100=53.57%

let the total vote is x , 30% of x= 30*x/100=1200, we are getting the value of x=4000.
now 70% of 4000 is 2800. now he has required 1600 more to make it 70% of x, that is total vote. so % reqired from remaning vote= (1600*100)/2800=57.14%

That is 4000 total votes..

Given, 30%=1200
SO, 70%=?
30=1200
70=?
Cross multiply them.
we get=>30x=1200*70.
=>x=1200*70/30
=>x=2800 which is 70%.
Total votes it got,1200=30%
so,it need 40% more votes.
40%=70%-30%.
=2800-1200=1600.
So, 1600 is the answer.
