If Printed or Marked price of book at dealer=x, then x*0.84*0.9=270, x=270/(0.84*0.9)=360
So Selling price of dealer=0.84*360
As on this selling price, gain is 5%, so Cost Price=84*360*(100/105)=288

Consider as 100 rupees,so 5 % = 1.05* 1oo =105.
16% discount = 0.84 x 100 = 84,So selling price is84 and the the marked price 100.
Retailer discount 10%,so customer selling price is 125 x 0.9 = Rs.112.5
so selling price is112.5 and dealer price is = Rs.100
so if selling price is 270 then (270/112.5) * 100 = Rs.240
