Angle between two hands=11/2*M-30*H
=11/2*30-30*5
=165-150
=15

At 5:30 minute hand will be at position 6 and hour hand will be exactly between 5 and 6 and will cover 15°, so angle between two hands=30 -15 = 15°

EXPLANATION

Hour hand makes 360° in its complete rotation, i.e 12 hrs makes 360° or we can say 12hrs*60minutes=720 minutes makes 360°. So hour hand makes 360°/720minutes=0.5°/minute.

Minutes hand makes 360° in its complete rotation, i.e is 60 minutes makes 360°. So minute hand makes 360°/60minutes= 6°/minutes.

Now According to question,

Hour hand will make total angle from mark 12 in clockwise direction ,
0.5°*(60*5+30)=165°
Minute hand will make angle from mark 12 in clockwise direction,
6°*30=180°
So angle between two hands=180-165=15°

Total angle made by clock in a full cycle = 360°
No. Of hours = 12
Angle made by swiping 1 hour= 360/12
= 30°
Angle between both hand when time is 5:30 = means hour hand at 5 and min hand at 6 will sweep 30° ..

angle= 1/2(60H - 11M) where H=hour hand, M=minute hand
=1/2(60*5-11*30)
=1/2(300-330)
=-15

angle traced by it in 5 hrs 30 min i,e.11/2hrs=360/12*11/2=165 degree
angle traced by it in 30 mins=360/60*30=180 degree

Angle between minute and hour hand when clock sweep 5 mins = 360/12 = 30
Since we want angle b/w two hands at 5:30 , at that time the minute hand also sweep half = 15°
So, Now resulting angle b/w minute and hour hand at 5:30 be = 30° - 15° = 15°

direct formula is 30*h - 5.5*m... h stands for hours...m stands for minutes....so here---30*5-5.5*30=-15..so the angle is 15 degrees...negative sign indicates that min hand is moving ahead of hour hand

30 degree is the right answer because when the bigger hand of clock is at 6 nd the smaller one is at 5 it will make an angle of 30degree

one hour in a clock makes an angle of 15 degree at origin.

at 05:30 , minute hand will pointing at 6
and hour hand will be pointing exactly between 5 and 6.

therefore angle projected by two hands of the clock will be = 15/2 degree
= 7.5 degree

Speed of min hand =6°/min
30min we have6*30=180
For exactly 5 o clock we have 150 °
Speed of hour hand=1/2°/min
=1/2*30=15
150+15=165
Angle made by both hands=180-165=15°

angle difference between every hour is 30 deg.(360/12 hr= 30 deg)
hence hands between 5 and 6 will be 30 deg and 30 mins passed from 5.hence 15 degree should be subtracted.
30-15=15 degree

At 5:30 the hour hand rests half way between the 5 and 6 and the minute hand exactly at 6.
As there are 24 half hour intervals on a clock ,the angle of one is: 360/24=15
