See the expression y/z in M , when we put highest and lowest values of y and z respectively , they get cancelled and 1 is obtained , hence M=x , irrespective of the values of y and z , hence x can take any value of the real no. Hence , option 1 i.e x can vary from negative infinity to positive infinity is correct .
