ANS : 915
Let the total no of consumer is x
so as given one third of them dont use liquid that mean 2/3 use liquid
again two fifth of them dont use powder that mean 3/5 use powder
one fifth use neither of products so (2/3x + 3/5x + 1/5x)-x =427
solving x=915

answer is 915.
no liquid=1/3, no powder=2/5 , neither of them=1/5.
only use powder=(1/3-1/5)=2/15.
only use liquid=(2/5-1/5)=1/5.
use both=427.
so, 427+ (x/5)+(2x/15)+(x/5)=x
solving.. x=915.

let the total numbers be X.
A= don't use liquid = 1/3
B = don't use powder = 2/5
C = don't use both powder and liquid = 1/5
D = use both powder and liquid = 427
A + C = 1/3
B + C = 2/5
A= 1/3 - 1/5 = 2/15
B = 2/5 - 1/5 = 1/5
A + B + C= 2/15 + 1/5 + 1/5= 8/15
hence D = the rest which is 7/15
D = 7/15 = 427
D = 427 x 15/7 = 915 ans.

let the total no of customers be x.
then (x/3-427)+(2x/5-427)+(x/5)=0
then, by solving x=915.
