ANS : 9/16
assuming the number of boys and girls are same in exam
3/4 can be written as 6/8 for boys
and 3/8 for girls
hence for both 9/16

Ans.9/16
If no. of boys and girls are equal,
then x be no. of boys and girls each.
Boys qualified=x*3/4
Girls qualified=x*3/8
Total qualified=(x*3/4)+x*3/8=9x/8
Fractional part of qualified=9x/8*2x=9/16

9/16 is the answer.consider no of boys be 16 and no of girls be 16.then no of boys qualified =12 nd no of girls qualified =6.so fractional part=18/32=9/16

since this is not given that the girls and boys are the same so
let
x = number of boys
y = number of girls

so required probability = [ (x *3)/4 +( y*3) /8] / (x + y)

so whatever the number of boys and girls you will get 1/2
( i put x= 4 and y = 8 i got 1/2)

Ans = 1/2

let no of boys ang gals b same,,,,let it b 32
now boys qualified are 3/4*32=24 and no of gals qualified are 3/8*32=12
so total qualified are 12+24=32,,,,and total appeared are 32+32=64
so fraction is 36/64= 9/16 ans
