There are three possible cases;
case 1:
Only one arrow hits the target-
probability(case1)=1/3*(1/4)
case 2:
Any two arrows hit the target-
probability(case2)=2/3*(1/4)
case 3:
All the three arrows hit the target-
probability(case3)=3/3*(1/4)

Probability that the target is hit= P(case1) or P(case2) or P(case3)
=1/3*(1/4)+2/3*(1/4)+3/3(1/4)
Answer =1/2
