let the length of the ladder = height of the wall be 'x', if we follow the procedure of the question the arrangemet forms a right angled triangle with hypotenuse=x,opposite side=x-3& adgescent side=9m
now from the property of right angled triangle
x^2=(x-3)^2+9^2
=>x=15m

let the height of wall=lngth of laddr=x
den acc to the qn,
we get a right angled triangle iwd height(x-3) as the tools height is 3m,base as 9 as distance b/w ladder n wall is 9m & hypotenuse as x(the length of ladder,
nw solving acc to property of right angled triangle,
x^2=(x-3)^2+9^2
=>x=15m
