out of 60 male votes A got=(60*70)/100=42
and female votes A got=(70*60)/100=42
eligible vote is 130
so A got (84/130)*100=64.6%

question asks for what percent of citizen casted their vote...
let total male=a and female=b
eligible to vote are 6a/10 and 7b/10 respectively
voters voted are
men=(6a/10)*(7/10)=42a/100
women=(7b/10)*(6/10)=42b/100
so percent citizen voted=(((42a/100)+(42b/100))/(a+b))*100=42%

eligible male voters=6a/10 female voters=7a/10
total eligible voters=(6a+7b)/10
total voters voted for A =(6a/10)*(70/100)+(7a/10)*(60/100)
= (42(a+b))/100
percentage of votes A got (42(a+b)/100)/total eligible votes
=(42(a+b)/100)/((6a+7b)/100)
But values of a & b are unknown.
So data are insufficient.

Male voters =60,Female voters=70
70% of male voted A =(60*70)/100=42
and 60% of female voted A got=(70*60)/100=42
total no. of votes is (70+60)= 130
so A got (84/130)*100=64.6% votes

let 100 men & 100 women are in the town
60 men and 70 women are eligible to vote
70%of men voted to A= 42 men
60% of women voted for A= 42 women
total votes=(42+42)*100/200=42%

the answer will be 42% if we take the total population. But if we take the total number of votes casted then the given information is insufficient!!

if there are 1000 people with 500 male and 500 female then eligible males are 300 and eligible females are 350 and the no. of males voting for A are 210 and the same number of females vote for A. So total votes for A are 420 and the total number of eligible votes are 650 and so the percentage turns out to be 64.6%

64.6 IS THE RIGHT ANSWER AS WE WILL HAVE TO CALCLULAT %VOTE RECEIVED BY A NOT AND WHICH WILL BE CALCULATED BY TAKING BASE TOTAL NO. OF VOTE CAST IN THE ELECTION

Number of females who voted for A = 60%(70% (K) = 42% (k)

Let us assume the male and female population as 100 each.

Eligible to vote -> Male 60% = 60. Female 70% = 70.

Total eligible to vote -> 60 + 70 = 130.

70% of 60 voted for candidate A -> 42 males

60% of 70 voted for candidate A -> 42 females.

Thus totally 42 + 42 = 84 eligible voters voted for candidate A

Hence the percentage of votes secured by A -> 84/130 * 100 = 64.61% say 65%
