cut 1 horizontal, 1 vertical and 2 crosses make maximum 12 pieces....
and simply cut 4 horizontal or vertical make 5 minmum pieces.

For min cuts:
We cut the pizza into half (1 cut, 2 pieces)
We cut each half separately into halves (3 cuts, 4 pieces)
We cut one of the quarters. (4 cuts, 5 pieces)

For max cuts:
We make three cuts diametrically to make 6 sector pieces.
Then we keep each of the pieces over one another and cut all of them simultaneously, (the thickness is negligible) , so we get 12 pieces

Let 'n' be no of straight cuts
1. Min no of pieces = ( n + 1 )
2. Max no. Of pieces = ( 1 + 2 + ....+ n ) + 1
