the answer is option c i.e. 0.4 lit . amount of milk in 8 lit of mix = (8*70)/100 = 5.6 lit. amount of water in 8 lit of mix = 8 - 5.6 = 2.4 lit. half of milk i.e half of 5.6 = 2.8 lit. we need (2.8 - 2.4) lit water more = 0.4 lit

Ans : C. 0.4L
In case of a mixture,for any amount of the sample will contain the ingredients in the same proportion.So even if 2 L is taken away,the remaining 8 L will have 30% water and 70% milk.
Amount of water = 30*8/100 = 2.4L
Amount of milk = 8-2.4 =5.6L
For the mixture to have the amount of water double the amount of milk,
by changing only the amount of water,it shoul d contain 5.6/2 = 2.8L of water.
Therefore,the amount of water to be added = 2.8 - 2.4 = 0.4L

10-2=8 in 8 lit milk (8*.3=2.4)water is contain and (8*.7=5.6)
if we mix .4 lit of water in the mixture , milk wil be twice the water in mixture

10L mixture - 3L of water because(30%)
8 L mixture - ?
=2.4 L of water.
amount of milk is 8 - 2.4 = 5.6 L.
amout of water must be double that of milk Therefore 5.6/2=2.8
To get 2.8L from 2.4L we have to add 0.4L

10 lt of mixture --> 30% water + 70% milk
10lt - 2 lt =8lt --> 30%water + 70% milk
xlt of water is added to the solution so that the ratio of milk and water is 1:2
8lt + xlt(water) ---> 1:2(water : milk)
------consider only water percentage ---
30%(8lt) + xlt = 1/3(8lt +x)
solve the above eq
36 + 15x = 40 +5x
x=10/4
x=0.4
