avg.speed = (d1+d2)/(t1+t2)

let us assume total distance=100 miles
d1 = 80% of 100 which is 80 miles.
d2 = (100-80) which is equal to 20 miles.
t1 = time taken by train which is 80/80 = 1hr.
t2 = time taken by car 20/v hrs

60 = (80 + 20) / ( (80/80) + (20/v) )

v = 30 miles per hour.

--> v=48mph

avg spd=total distance/total time
60=(80+20)/(80/80)+(20/v)
=>v=30

assume 1 ltr in beginning ..in 8 hors capacity=2^7=128lts (total capacity)
1/4th capacity= 32 ltrs =2^5 => 5+1=6hrs

assume total 100 miles => total speed= total distance/total time= (100)/(4/3)=75

then
80*80+x*20=60*(80+x)
6400+20x=4800+60x
solving we get x=40ans
