String:Sequence of characters which ends with NULL.When you define string you have to define size of array +1 than the number of characters included in string.Ex:Word,Sentences.

Character Array:charecter array is aset of elements if you didn't give a space for null,it shows error.

The difference varies from language to language.

In C,String:string s[23];and character array:char c[34];
In C++,String:string s;and character array:char c[45];
