Answer will be option C
Let the side of the square be x
bt walking along side distance will be 2x.
diagonal, d = sqrt(2)*x (by PGT)
walking along diagonal is sqrt(2) * x
percent saved = [(2x - sqrt(2)*x)/2x]*100
= [(2x - 1.41x)/2x]*100
= .59x/2x * 100
= .295 * 100
= 29.5
hence option C is the answer

take side of a square is = 1
then along square distance will be = 1+1=2
and the diagonal will be = 1*rut 2=rut 2
so distance not cover will be = 2 - rut 2
so the percentage will be = (2 - rut 2) /2*100=(2 -1.6)/2*100=(.4/2)*100=20 as rut 2 approximately 1.6
