there is a little bit mistake in the question. the correct question is

I approached to the answer from the following step

here we see that P*E=S and (E*S)+ carry(if we get from P*E)=S
so we need to find a combination of two numbers for the value of P and E and after multiplying them we need to check these two conditions :-
1. if the answer is a one digit no. then S=answer so check whether S*E is giving a no. or not which ends with S.
2. if the answer is two digit no. then S=unit digit of the no. and carry= ten's digit of the no. now check whether (S*E)+carry= gives a number or not whose unit digit is S.

assuming this through hit and trial method I found the value of D,S,P and E. and through this result I came to the whole result.

Firstly, do the trail & error method like put P=2 & E=4 so, it comes S=8 but when we multiply S=8 & S=8 we will get last digit as 4 but we want 8 only....so It comes to P=3 & E=8 and after that it easy....to solve...I think so....
