Let the no of males be x & females b y.
Total salary of males= 24000x & total salary of females= 14000y
As total mean is 18000,therefore
(24000x+14000y)/(x+y)=18000
or
24000x +14000y = 18000x+18000y
6000 x =4000 y
3x=2y
x/y =2/3
y/x= 3/2 ; y:x = 3:2

so percentage of female employees of the institute = 100*3/5=60%

Sorry for the silly calculation error.The correct will be :
Let the no of males be x & females b y.
Total salary of males= 24000x & total salary of females= 14000y
As total mean is 18000,therefore
(24000x+14000y)/(x+y)=18000
=>6000x=4000y
=>x/y=2/3
Therefore % of female employees in the institute=(3/5)*100=60

%of females=(1500/1501)*100=99.93%
