If Earl can stuff advertisingcircular into envelopes at the rate of 'X' envelopes per minute. ellen requiresa minute and a half to stuff the same number of envelopes. means Ellen can put x/1.5 envelopes in 1 min.
Working together , they can put x+x/1.5 = 2.5 X/1.5 envelopes in 1 minute
so they will take (50*1.5)/2.5 X = 30/X minutes to stuff 50 envelopes.

Depending on value of X, they can take time.
If X= 6, option B is correct.
If X= 5, Option C is correct.
If X=10, Option D is correct.
