Let CP be 100rs
20% discount
100 * 80/100 = 80rs
so SP =80rs

to get CP again , calculate
x% of SP = 100 (here 100 is CP)
80 * x/100 = 100
x = 125%
125 % of SP is CP

Therefore % increase is 125 - 100 = 25%

Ans : 25%

just use this formula for this type of question:

(A/(100+or-A))*100

here A is given Percentage

this problem can be solved by the method of successive percentage....

-20+x+(-20*x/100)=0

here i have written 20 as a negative value because its a discount and x is the required value so it should be positive ...and net value should be 0....


solve above equation and get x=25%



note:successive percentage formula= a+b+(ab/100)
