Sum of 8 quantities = Total No of quantities X Average of them
= 6 X 8 = 48
Sum of 4 quantities = 4 X 5 = 20
Sum of 4 Quantities + Sum of 2 Quantities = Sum of 6 Quantities
20 + Sum of 2 Quantities = 48
Sum of 2 Quantities = 28
Average of 2 Quantities = Sum of 2 Quantities / 2
= 28/2 = 14

Average of remaining 2 numbers=(Total of 6 numbers - Total of 4 numbers)/2
=(6*8 - 4*5)/2= 28/2 =14

(x1+2+3+4+5+x6)/6=8 ---1

(x1+2+3+4)/4=5

(x1+2+3+4)= 20 ----2

From 1&2

(20+x5+x6)/6=8

(x5+x6)/2===14.

=>A6/6=8......(i)
=>A4/4=5....(ii)
.
=>(A4+A2)/6=8 from (i)
=>(20+A2)=48 FROM (ii)
=>A2=24
=>A2/2=12 is the avg. of the remaining 2 numbers
where Ai=sum ofi numbers

we have 6 quantities a b c d e f ok..avrg of a b c d is 5..means a+b+c+d=20 ok
thn a+b+c+d+e+f=48 /...so e+f=48-20 = 28..ok
thn reaming two..e+f=28..we write dis like as ..e+f/2 = 14...this is the avrg of remaing two....
so answer is 14..

sum of 8 quantities =6*8=48
sum of 4 quantities =4*5=20
therefore ,
sum of 2 quantities =48-20
=28
average of 2 quantities =28/2
=14

Let the average be x
8*6=2*x+4*5
x=(48-20)/2
x=14
