Let x = his final age
:
a lengthy but simple equation
Final age = child + youth + bach + marriage + son's age + 4
x = x/5 + x/7 + x/12 + 5 + x/2 + 4
:
Common denominator of 12*7 = 84
x =14 x/84 + 7x/84 + 12x/84 + 5 + 42x/84 + 4
:
x = 75x/84 + 9
:
84x/84 - 75x/84 = 9
:
9x/84 = 9
:
x = 84 is his final age
:
Check:
14 + 7 + 12 + 5 + 42 + 4 = 84

x=x/5+x/7+x/12+5+(age of the son)
age of the son let be y
so y-4=x/2
y=x/2+4
so x=x/5+x/7+x/12+5+x/2+4
x=9*420/31
i think the question is wrong

@neha when u take the LCM it is not 84
it is 84*5=420

Anyways the answer is 84 ...still didnt got the concept ...have to move on...
