first number divisible by 13 after 300 is 312 and last number less than 1000 div by 13 is 988.
so formula
[(988-312)13]+1
ans is 53

1000/13= 76 +remainder
300/13=23 +remainder
76-23=53

answer is 53. first integer is 312 and last is 988 so using ap we can find out. 988= 312 + (n-1)13

53 is the correct answer, because the simplest ever Explaination is here.
988 - 312= 676 (Subtract the No. greater than 300 which is divisible by 13 from the No. below 1000 which is divisible by 13)
Now,
676/13 =52 (Divide the previous Answer by 13)
52 + 1 = 53 (Add 1 to previous Answer)

Summary:
--------------
The word Between means 300 and 1000 will not be considered, If it is divisble or not.
So the No. next to 300 that is divisible by 13 is 312 (13x24=312) &
the the No. next before 1000 that is divisible by 13 is 988 (13x76=988)
Subtract the value before 1000 which is divisible by 13 from the value next to 300 which is divisible by 13.
After that Divide the answer by 13 and then Add 1 to it.
