Two subscriber together make 1400 calls, and were charged Rs 425 and Rs 925 respectively. If the single person had made all of the 1400 calls, he would have been charged Rs 1550. How many telephone calls are allowed for the first Rs 300 ?

Take "n" as the limit for "Rs. 300".
Case1(When one is using):
per call rate after crossing the limit(i.e n)=(1550-300)/(1400-n)

Case2(When only both are using)
per call rate after crossing the limit(i.e n)=((425+925)-(300*2))/(1400-2n)

so 1250/(1400-n)=750/(1400-2n)
. n=400
