let no of workers is x
x workers complete the work in 24 days
so 1 workers can complete the work in 24x days
now
x-7 workers can complete the work in 30 days
so 1 workers can complete the work in 30(x-7) days
from above
24x = 30(x-7)
so x =35

Let the original number of workers in the group be 'x'
Therefore, actual number of workers = x-7.
We know that the number of manhours required to do the job is the same in both the cases.
Therefore, x (24) = (x-7).30
24x = 30x - 210
6x = 210
x = 35.
Therfore, the actual number of workers who worked to complete the job = x - 7 = 35 -7 = 28.

Let x be the no. of workers
x workers can do a piece of work in 24 days
1 worker can do same piece of work in 24/x days

when 7 of workers are absent:
1 worker completes work in 24/x days
(x-7) workers can complete the work in 30 days i.e. (x-7)*24/x
therefore,
24(x-7) = 30x
so x =28

24x/1=30(x-7)/1
x=35

By the percentage you can do without pen/pencil
if 24 days took for complete a work that means 1 day work is(100/24=4.17%)
if 7 are absent took 30 days that means 1 days work is(100/30=3.33%)
above to value state that 7 person does 4.17-3.33 =0.84% in 1 days
1 person does in one days=0.84/7=0.12%
if the 100 % work done in one days requred person=100/0.12=833 man
if total days is 24 to do 100 % work requre person=833/24=34.7775=35 approx;
so total person need for done work in 24 days=35
so total person need for done work in 30 days=28
Hope that method looks hard but its easy to do calculation in mind:) :)

x*24=(x-7)*30
x=35

asking rest how many worker are doing jab so ans = 28
but ask total then ans =35 @PRAWIN KUMAR SINGH
