let us assume an amount of 100 gm of flower nectar.
In 100 gm Flower nectar------ Nectar = 50 gm & Water = 50 gm.
Under processing, the 100 gm quantity is reduced because of loss of water.
now,
How much honey we got ??
we got 50 gm nectar + some water in honey.
How much water ??
15 % of the total honey we got.
So, Honey is composed of 85% nectar + 15 % water.
85% of Honey = 50 gm nectar
Honey = 50*100/85 gm
Honey = 59 gm.
So for 59 gm Honey ------- 100 gm quantity of flower nectar is needed.
for 1000 gm Honey == (cross multiply)
= 1000*100/59
= 1694 gm flower nectar
= 1.694 Kgs = 1.7 Kgs approx. ***** OPTION C. 1.7 kgs. *******
