x=36

let the second no be x
(x/2+x+x/3)/3=44
on solving x=72 or by back substitution

Let numbers be a, b, c.
Second is twice the first and three times the third, (so b is the largest).
a = (1/2)b
c = (1/3)b
Now we can express average in terms of b
Average = b[1/2 + 1 + 1/3]/3 = (11/18)b = 44
Largest, b = 18*44/11 = 72

Check: a = 36, b = 72, c = 24, average = 132/3 = 44
