Let time travelled in train is x min then in cycle (x+20) min.
(30/60)x + (15/60)(x + 20) = 50 or x = 60
Total time taken 60 + (60 + 20) = 2 hr 20 min

Ans is 2 hours and 20 minutes
it can be solved by hit and trial
take 1 hour for train it travels 30mile in 1 hour
in 1 hour bicycle travel 15 mile remaining 5 miles travelled by bicycle in 20 minutes which is condition in statement.so assumption is true.

answer 2h 20 minutes 15*(t+20/60)+30*t=50 solving we get t=1 hour
then the total time is 1h 20 journey due to bicycle +1 hr journey on train=2h 20 min

speed of train = 2×15 = 30mph
time for train = x
time for cycle = x + (20/60)
distance = speed×time
50 = 30x + 15( x ×20/3 )
so, x = 1 hr
so total distance = x + x × 20
= 2 hr 20 min

15*(t+1%3) + 30*t =50
t = 1hr
total time = t + t +20 = 2 hr 20 min.

the girl spends 20 min on bycle so distance travelled according to given is 5 miles
and remaining are 45 miles that she travelled by train
speed of train is 30 mph so ti takes 1.5 hours to reach destination
so total time is
i.e 1 hr 30min+ 20 min= 1 hr 50 min
its the final answer
