let applicants be x. 5% not eligible, so eligible persons are 0.95x.
15% of eligible are 4275 members.
=> 0.15*0.95x=4275 => x=30000.
so 30000 members applied.

Ans. 30000 applicants

let x applicants applied.
Now 5% of x = .05x are ineligible and 0.95x are eligible.
Eligible belonging to other category are 4275, which are 15% of total eligible applicants
Therefore, 0.15 * 0.95x = 4275
=> x = 4275 / (0.15 * 0.95x) = 30000
So 30000 applicants applied.

5x/100 + 85x/100 + 4275=x
5x+85x+427500=100x
ans=40000

7,11,13,these three are prime numbers....
but 9 is not a prime number
so the ans is 45

85% eligible belong to A so (100-85)=15% belong to other
simply 95/100*15/100*x=4275
x=3000
