2(x-1) 1 (x-1)
total= 3x-2
so 2x+1=3x-2
or x=3,so no of girl=3 and boy 3+1=4--(according to first expression)

Let the number of sons be s.
Let the number of daughters be d.


each boy in this family has as many sisters as brothers.
i.e.,s-1=d .............(1)

each girl has twice as many brothers as sisters
i.e., 2(d-1)=s . ............(2)

Therefore solving (1)&(2), we get,
s=4, d=3...

Let the number of brothers be 'n'. Then the number of sisters will be 'n-1', because each boy has as many sisters as brothers. Each sister will have twice as many brothers as sisters. Hence
2( n- 1-1) = n
2 (n-2) = n
2n - 4 = n
2n - n = 4
n = 4 boys n- 1 = 3 sisters
