ans =14.
let x is ten digit number and y is unit number.
according to puzzle x is increased by 50% now new value of x =x+(1/2)x
since 50% =1/2 of that number.
similarly y increased by 100% than new y=y+y=2y
now from puzzel 10*[x+(1/2)x]+1*(y+y)=10*x+1*y+9
from above equestion 5x+y=9
there are two root that satisfy this equestion (0,9) and(1,4)
(0,9) not possible because o makes ten's digit 0 so x=1 and y=4
the original value is 14.

I think given data is wrong.

As per this data, number is 14.
If number is xy, then
10x+y+9 = 15x+2y
5x+y=9
x=1,y=4


so number is 14.

the digit at the unit's place can be either of the following one = 1, 2, 3, 4 because if you double these digits, they will be within 9( ex: 2, 4, 6, 89). if you double the digit after 5 it won't be a single digit.
similarly the digit in ten's place can be either of the following one = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. because after 6, if increase the digit's value by 50%, then it won't be a single digit. (ex: increase 7 by 50% = 10.5)
further, in ten's digit, 1, 3, 5 cannot be considered as if you increase them by 50%, then they will not be whole numbers. (ex increase 1 by 50% = 1.5).
so the no. in ten's digit 2, 4, 6 = increase by 50% = 3, 6, 9
no. in unit digit 1 2 3 4= increase by 100% = 2, 4, 6, 8
try the combination now= 21, increase both digits = 32 ( 32-21=9)
