If a and b are mixed in 3:5 ration and b and c are mixed in 8:5 ration if the final mixture is 35 liters, find the amount of b?
Read Solution (Total 4)
-
- make the ratio of b in both a:b and b:c as 40(lcm of 8 & 5).
then new ratio will be 24:40(a:b) and 40:25(b:c).
Thus a:b:c is 24:40:25
thus 35*(40/89)=15.73 - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(37) No(1)
- 3:5 *8
8:5 *5
24;40
40:25
=>
25:40:25
therefore b is 40 * 35 /( 25+40+25)=15.7303370787 - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(0)
- The new compound ratio will be 24:40:25 (to get 3:5:5*5/8)
Then b's part = 40/(24+40+25)*35 =15.73 - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(3)
- a:b=3:5
b:c=8:5
so,a:b:c=(8*3):(8*5):(5*5)=24:40:25
now,
given value of final mixture is 35 litre
that means
(24+40+25)=35
=>89=35
so,1=35/89
so,40=(35/89)*40 [here 40 is the value of b ]
solving this we get 15.73
.......
so the ans is 15.73 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
