In a rectangle the difference between the sum of the adjacent side and the diagonal is half the length of the longer side. What is the ratio of shorter to the longer side ?

  if x is breadth and y is length and D is diagonal, then
  y+D-x-D= y/2
  x=y/2

  let longer side is x and shorter is y then diagonal is root of x2+y2..using this we get the answer

  since rectangle
  diagnol =sqroot (x ^2 +y^2)
  sum of adjecent sides =x+y
  acc to the condition:(x+y)-sqroot(x^2+y^2)=x/2
  on solving we get y:x=3:4
