- let the value of highest prize is x.
as each prize is rs.200 less than its preceding prize the equation will be,
x+(x-200)+(x-400)...+(x-1200)=7000
7x-200(1+2+3+...6)=7000
7x=11200
x=1600
so highest prize is rs 1600 - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(25) No(3)
- let x be lowest prize
7x+200+400+600+800+1000+1200=7000
x=400rupees
the value of the highest prize=x+1200=1600 rupees - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(9) No(3)
- given,
sum of 7 terms = 7000
so, sn=7000 & n=7
its also given common diff, d=200
solving, sn=n/2*[2a+(n-1)d]
where a=first term
we get a=400
so, 'n'th term is given by,
Tn=a+(n-1)d
so, T7=1600 - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(2)
- highest price = x;
then x+(x-200)+(x-400)+(x-600)+(x-800)+(x-1000)+(x-1200)=7000
i.e. 7x-4200=7000
7x=7000+4200
7x=11200
x=1600 - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)
- The value of the highest prize is 1600
1600+1400+1200+1000+800+600+400=7000 - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)
