A man purchases every 11 articles for Rs 10 and sells every 10 articles for Rs 11. How many articles should he sell to gain Rs 63 ?
Read Solution (Total 4)
-
- 330 articles.
suppose he bought 110 articles for Rs 100 and sold them for Rs 121 and made profit of Rs 21 on 110 articles.
so for profit of Rs 63, he should sell 110*63/21 = 330 articles - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(14) No(1)
- purchasing price of one article is 10/11
selling price of one aricle is 11/10
let x be the total no. of articles needed to acquire gain 63
than the purchasing price of x articles is 10*x/11
and selling price of x articles in 11*x/10
so the eqtn is
(11*x/10-10*x/11)=63
21*x/110=63
x=330
so the answer is 330 articles - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(0)
- evry time he buys 11 articles and sell 10 articles he gains 1 rupee and 1 article. then if he does it for 10 times he will have 10 rupees profit and 10 articles with him so he can sell once again for 11 rupees so total profit is 21rs. so if he buys and sells for 30 times he will have rs63 gain

- 11 articles for 10...cp for each...10/11=0.9090rup
sells 10 for 11....sp for each....1.1rup
profit per article=1.1-0.9090=0.191rup
1 article...gain 0.191
x articles ...gain 63
