- e) first milestone lies btw. 16 and 49 because after this reverse i.e second milestone will be less than first milestone. taking first=16
second=61 difference=45
third=61+45=106 (1 and 6 part of this satisfied condition)
speed of car is 45 kmph

- 1st 2 digit no.should be one of the :16, 25, 36, 49, 64, 81 (perfect squares)
After 1 hour...reversing the digits 61, 52, 63, 94, 46, 18
Speed of car should be one of the given: 45, 27, 27, 45, NA, NA
After another hour nos. on milestones 106, 79, 90, 139
So in this case 106 is the answer which is fulfilling all conditions..Thanks

- 45 kmph.
16 km first milestone which is perfect square.
add it in 45 after 1 hour it will be 61. which is reverse.
then after 1 hour it will be 61+45=106 where u can see both degit 1 and 6.

- answer is 45kmph
First its given that first milestone contains a 2digit no. which is a perfect square.. It can be 16 25 36 49 64 or 81
Then its given he finds a milestone with the same 2 digit no. but in reverse order. Now we can only think of nos 61(16) 52(25) 63(36) 94(49)
Again after an hour he finds a milestone having those two digits in a 3 digit no. Now solving above , speed (if 16 is correct)= (61-16)/1hr = 45kmph
now think of 2 digit no. Let it be 106.. again we get speed=45kmph..
We cannot get the same answer again when we do with any other squares - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)

- 45kmph..... let x is first milestone y is second one. Y-X < 100 according to options... so find out the X and Y by checking the perfect squares between 100... 16,61 25,52 49,94... apply the condition

- the ans is (E) i.e., 45 kmph.....
first the saw 16 on the milestone which is the sq. of 4.....after travelling at a speed of 45 kmph he saw another milestone of 16+45=61 and after an hour the milestone showed him 61+45=106 kmph...... - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
