There are 17 teams to play in a game.matches are played b/w two teams and no match ends is draw,the loser is out of the game and the winner stays in the game to play ahead,the matches continue to be played among the teams until one team emerges as the winner,so can u tell how many matches will be played in all to decide the winner of the game

in the next level,
4 matches will remove 4 teams.so 5 teams will remain.

in the next level,
2 matches will remove 2 teams.so 3 teams will remain.

in the next level,
1 match will remove 1 team.so 2 teams will remain.

then the final match takes place to decide the winner.
so total of 8+4+2+1+1=16 matches
