Q A ladder was rested along a wall of height 5m If ladder slides 2m away from the wall then

ladder is rested along the wall then if ladder touches the foot of the wall by sliding 2m away it must be length of ladder be 2m.
so answer must be 2m.

suppose wall is at right angle then ladder will slide that is the hypotenuse of a triangle therefore length of ladder =root of (5^2+2^2)=root of(29)...is this correct or not

let dis frm wall of ladder=x
then ladder length=x^2+5^2..................(1)
when ladder slide ,base becomes=x+2
then ladder length=(x+2)^2..................(2)height of wall becomes 0;
by equating 1 &2 we get x=5.25 (that is base)
now height of ladder is=2+5.25=7.25

Let before moving , base was x
So after moving 2m the foot of the wall ,so length will be x+2
Taking base = x perpendicular is x+2 and height 5
Apply Pythagoras
X^2 +5^2= (x+2)^2
