A cube of volume 1000 cm 3 is divided into small cubes of 1 cm 3 ..& all the outer surfaces are painted how many cubes will be there with (at least one side painted or no side painted)..

because first of all if we consider faces, than at every face leaving its edges, we are left with a square of side 8.
so total cubes on a face are 8*8=64.
as there are 6 faces so there are 6*8*8=384 cubes, which are painted only at the one face.
Now we will have to consider the part which is untouched till now.
removing all the faces we are left with a 8*8*8 cube out of 10*10*10 cube.
SO this 8*8*8 cubes are the cubes, which are not having paint on any of their faces.
So total cubes which are One sided painted are = 8*8*6
and total cubes having no sides painted are =8*8*8
