A sum of Rs 350 made up of 110 coins which are either Rs 1 or Rs 5 denomination. How many coins are of Rs 5?

• suppose 1 rupee coin are x,and 5 rupee coin are 110-x,and total rupees are 350
  
  1*x+5*(110-x)=350
  after solving we get
  x=50
  the coin are of rs 5 are 110-50=60 coins

• Let the no. of Rs.5 coins=x
  Then no. of Re.1 coins=110-x
  So, 5x+(110-x)=350
  or, 4x=240
  or, x=60
  Hence no. of Rs.5 coins=60
